BA (Hons.) Natural Sciences; PhD Molecular Biology; Trainee European Patent Attorney
Luke graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in Natural Sciences, specializing in Biochemistry with Cell Biology. This gave him a broad understanding of the biological sciences, with particular expertise in a range of fields from biochemistry and molecular biology to microbiology, genetics and immunology. In his final year at TCD, Luke carried out a research project on the compartmentalization of glycolytic enzymes in Trypanosoma brucei, a single-celled eukaryotic parasite. Luke completed his PhD research at the University of Cambridge on the same organism, using a variety of molecular biology techniques to characterize a novel nuclear protein.
Before joining FRKelly in 2016, he worked for a pharmaceutical research company in the UK which complemented his earlier work experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, thus resulting in a broad understanding of both drug development and manufacturing.
Luke is a student member of the Association of Patent and Trademark Attorneys (APTMA). He is based in our Dublin office.
