Brian’s work involves the filing and prosecution of European and International Patent Applications for both local and international clients. He has been with FRKelly since 1999, having completed a degree in mechanical engineering. He qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2004, and is also a qualified Irish Patent Attorney and European Trade Mark Attorney.
Brian has recently been involved in the creation of a large patent portfolio for a Dublin-based and world leading firm undertaking a pioneering tidal based renewal energy project. He also works with a number of medical and surgical device firms and individual surgeons in the area of medical and surgical devices and methods for manufacturing such devices. Brian represents a number of large US firms in prosecuting both European and Irish patent applications.
Brian is a former chairperson of the Irish Patent Law Committee, and in this capacity dealt with a wide range of the issues that surround Irish and European IP legislation and related issues.
