Brian’s Story:

Brian is a European Patent Attorney and holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (BEng) in mechanical engineering from Trinity College Dublin. He is a Partner in FRKelly.

Brian has 20 years experience in the IP profession and provides a wide range of intellectual property services to local and international clients, ranging from multinationals through Universities to SME’s and individual inventors.

Brian’s work has a particular emphasis on medical devices and renewable energy related inventions, and he has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in these technical fields. He also has considerable skill and experience in other IP areas including patent searching, patent infringement, validity and enforcement, management of large scale IP portfolios, IP assignment projects, licenses and contracts. Brian also has significant experience in relation to designs and trade marks enabling him to give clients comprehensive and cohesive advice on protecting their full suite of valuable IP assets.
