Gavan handles a wide range of Irish, European and International Trade Mark matters, from Trade Mark clearance to registration and enforcement. He joined the profession in 1993 and moved to FRKelly in 1997, joining the partnership in 2002.

Gavan manages the worldwide Trade Mark portfolios for several Irish clients, notably in the entertainment field. He is the firm’s representative on the Trade Mark Law & Practice Committee of the Association of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys. Gavan is the Ireland contributor to the World Trademark Review.

Gavan was listed as one of the world’s leading Trade Mark professionals in World Trademark Review 1000. He was complimented in the publication on his ‘broad understanding’ of all Trade Mark protection, in particular clearances and enforcement, which he works on for his high profile clients in the entertainment industry. Gavan is currently listed as an “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property, a leading source of news and analysis on all intellectual property developments worldwide.
