Gearoid is a Trainee European Patent Attorney and he joined FRKelly in 2018. Gearoid’s areas of expertise include physics, mechanics, optics, semiconductor technology, quantum technology, telecommunications and software-related inventions.
Gearoid is a student member of the Association of Patent and Trademark Attorneys (APTMA) in Ireland.
Gearoid graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a First Class degree in Physics in 2017, and subsequently completed a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge in 2018. His undergraduate thesis, for which he received a First, reviewed contemporary techniques in microscopy including contemporary optical setups, image processing algorithms and the use of quantum dot technology in medical applications. This followed from a funded research placement conducted at Queen Mary University of London. Gearoid’s Masters included courses on quantum information theory and contemporary optical technology.
